UBOC - University of Bristol Orienteering and Trail Running Club -
competes in local, national and international orienteering events, as
well as various trail running events. Orienteering is a sport for
people who enjoy challenge and adventure. The aim is to navigate
around a set course using a map as fast as possible.
We travel all over the country and even the world, orienteering in
forests, over moors and through cities. We've got lots of trips lined
up this year - come join us! Many of our members enjoy fell and trail
running as a hobby and as great physical training for orienteering. We
support members who want to take part in local fell or trail races,
including in the Mendips and South Wales, and provide the option to go
for a fell run on our training weekends which take us across the
country from Cornwall to the Lake District.
At the moment, membership is open to current University of Bristol students, in line with Bristol SU's updated affiliate membership criteria. We hope you'll join us if you're studying here!
We have two types of membership; a free social membership and a full membership.
Free social membership lets you attend our Monday Night Runs and Socials! Remember, you can attend our introduction to orienteering training course for free in the first 4 weeks before having to buy our full membership to join our trainings and weekend events.
Full membership costs £15 for the year and gives you access to our training sessions, weekend events and 15% off at our sponsor Alpkit Bristol. Make sure to buy this before attending training sessions (after you've come to our free introduction to orienteering course in the first 4 weeks of term!).
